Sculpture Projects in the Digital Age

Teleporting Project Series is an experimental sculpture project to be conducted through VR 3D modeling software based on traditional clay modeling skills. 

It is a 3D printing project aimed at teleporting our pioneer sculptor back into the contemporary dimensions of the 21st century, metaphorically. The research project hopes to re-establish the conversation between a young sculptor and the revered pioneer.

The sculptor, Yeo Chee Kiong, attempts to create a digital reconstruction of the 3D portrait of the late sculptors based on publicly available online images.

A gigantic portrait (approximate height of 1.8 m), representing the pioneers as Titans to the young sculptor, will be printed LEGO by LEGO (20 cm x 20 cm x 10 cm each) through multiple 3D printing machines throughout the show period.

During the printing duration, a series of VR versions on plasma screens, 3D projections, and AR versions accessible through QR codes will allow visitors to access the digital dimension where the Titans are, and where they are awaiting to be re-THINGing in tangible reality.
